I use bookshop.org and Amazon Affiliates links to earn a commission on the products and books I recommend on this site. I only use affiliate links for items I genuinely love and recommend to others. I always thoroughly research each item or book and ensure it is high quality and relevant to my readers before recommending it.
I use IngramSpark links to sell my own books through this website. I receive a higher compensation rate for those direct sales than if you purchase them through other retailers, because there is no “middle man” taking a cut of the proceeds. This is why I can offer the lowest price directly through this website.

What data I might collect from you
TL;DR: I only collect and store the info necessary to send you newsletters when and if you subscribe using a form on my website. If you email me, I’ll retain the archive of your email message unless you ask me to purge it. If you unsubscribe I’ll purge your info within 21 days. If you click a link on my website or interact with embedded content, third party websites might be collecting data about you.
For newsletter subscribers: email address, country, and any interaction with newsletters I send you (whether you opened it and/or clicked on any links in the newsletter). I store this data on MailerLite (see their privacy policy here) until you ask me to purge your info or until 21 days after you unsubscribe. I can see your email address and the country you were in when you signed up (according to your IP address). I can’t see anything more specific than the name of a country. I can also see if you opened an email and/or clicked on a link in it.
If you contact me through my contact form or by email directly, I will be able to see the name and email you provided in the form/email, as well as any content included in the message. I will retain these messages in my archive unless you ask me to purge it by contacting me via email at maia@littlefarsibooks.com.
For website visitors: no personally identifiable data collected. I can only see aggregated information, such as how many people accessed a certain page or clicked a button, and in which country they are located. I can not tell who specifically is visiting. I use DreamHost to host my website and email, so they process the data but do not store or retain it.
For purchasers: no personally identifiable data collected by me. if you place an order via IngramSpark or any other retailer, I will not see any of your personal data. I will only see the aggregated sales data from the retailer, which includes the number of copies sold total (not the number of orders), the price they sold for, and the retail platform that sold them. The retailer that you purchase from will have their own privacy policy and may collect data from you when you purchase from them.
For reviewers: I will be able to see any reviews left publicly on retail or social sites, and any personally identifying information contained in them such as your public username, just as any other member of the public. The website on which you post the review will have their own privacy policy and may collect data from you when you visit, log in to, or post on their site.
Who I share your data with
TL;DR: No one!
No one! For those who share your name or email with me, and for newsletter subscribers, I will only use this data in order to share the newsletters you signed up to receive. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in the footer of every newsletter email. I use MailerLite to collect, store, and manage this data and send newsletters. I will never share your data with anyone else or use it for any other purpose.
How long I retain your data
TL;DR: For as long as you are subscribed or 21 days after you unsubscribe. Email messages you’ve sent me are retained until you ask me to purge them.
If you subscribe to my newsletter, I will retain access to your provided email, country location, and interactions (whether you opened the newsletters and/or clicked on links in them) for as long as your are subscribed.
